This is the website of Robert Carson of Glasgow, Scotland. It contains all my known ancestors whom I have discovered through many years of family history and genealogical research. In addition to my Carson ancestors, who migrated from County Antrim to Ayrshire in the 1870s, all my other ancestral lines can be viewed. The counties in Scotland where my ancestors lived, and the main surnames involved are listed below. In addition I have written a narrative history of several of my ancestral families.

I have presented the history of several of my ancestral families in a narrative form. As well as the basic details of births, marriages and deaths, these give many interesting details of their lives. Included are photographs to bring these long departed ancestors back to life, so that they are more than mere names in a chart.

·     The Story of the Carsons tells the story of how various family members crossed the water between Antrim and Ayrshire.

·     The Briggs Family of Kirkcudbrightshire and Midlothian narrates the story of the Briggs family who moved from farming in New Abbey, Kirkcudbrightshire to coal mining in Midlothian.

·     The Story of the Beveridges is the story of the Beveridges, a mining family of Halbeath and Kettle in Fife and Stevenston in Ayrshire.

·     The History of the Edward Family of Peterculter, Aberdeenshire, and Nigg, Kincardineshire tells the story of this farming family and their descendants throughout the world.

·      The Story of the Hunters tells the tale of the Hunter family as they moved from Sanquhar and Thornhill in Dumfries-shire to New Cumnock in Ayrshire and then to Glasgow.

·       The Story of the Leiths, an Aberdeenshire Farming Family tells the story of a family who have farmed in Aberdeenshire since the 18th century.

·       The History of the Murrays is the story of the Murrays, a farming family of Chapel of Garioch and Foveran in Aberdeenshire.

·       The Neilsons of Midlothian - A Coal Mining Family. This is the tale of a family who lived in Midlothian from the 17th to the 20th century.

·       The History of the Sharp Family of Aberdeenshire. This is the story of a family who were farmers in Aberdeenshire in the 18th and 19th centuries.

·       The Story of the Smiths is the story of the Smith family of Bartonholm, a mining village in Ayrshire, and their descendants in England, Australia and USA.
